RIBA win for Tiger Way

Congratulations to Tiger Way for winning a RIBA London Award.

System Five, a 4energy group company, is proud to be the maintenance and service provider at Tiger Way which is a mixed-use development in Hackney comprising The Nightingale school for 420 children and The oTTo, 89 high quality residential apartments.

This mixed-use scheme enables a significant reduction in CO2 emissions by utilising an efficient shared CHP heating system and on-site photovoltaics on the roof of the residential towers to avoid overshadowing.

The energy strategy for the school promotes passive design features such as natural ventilation, excellent fabric efficiency and exposed thermal mass, with glazing and openable windows sized to provide good daylight levels and effective overheating control. To ensure daylight throughout, school classrooms have ‘chimney’ vents to roof levels providing natural light to the classrooms.

Tiger Way was designed by internationally renowned architects Hawkins\Brown and was delivered in collaboration with the London Borough of Hackney, Londonewcastle, McLaren Group and Max Fordham.

We are proud to have been selected to partner with Pinnacle Group Limited who have an extensive and successful history in providing facilities management within the education sector to provide planned preventative maintenance and remedial works across this site where our engineers are responsible for the maintenance of the central energy centre including thermal stores serving various plant which utilises a Trend Control Systems IQ4 for control and management.
