System Five, a 4energy group company is proud to have been selected by main contractor Knight Harwood to join the team working on the regeneration of the iconic Arding & Hobbs site at Clapham Junction. The impressive project team includes Architects – Stiff + Trevillion, Project Manager – Blackburn & Co and Service Engineers – Norman Disney Young.
Arding & Hobbs is a former department store and Grade II listed building which was constructed in 1910 in an Edwardian Baroque style and designed by architect James Gibson.
This famous Clapham landmark will be carefully restored, refurbished and extended creating retail and office space and a new rooftop pavilion and terrace, giving this much-loved building a new lease of life whilst celebrating its unique heritage features.
Engineers from System Five will be providing a Trend Control Systems based BEMS which will monitor and control plant including ventilation, water services, VRF, downflow units and water services along with comprehensive energy management. The project is targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and is due to complete in Summer 2023.
