New HQ for lifestyle brand Ted Baker in Fitzrovia

System Five are proud to have been selected by MCS Ltd to work on the new global headquarters for the lifestyle brand Ted Baker. The team working on the project includes Assael Architecture, McLaren Construction Group and ISG.

Ted Baker is one of the fastest-growing leading lifestyle brands in the UK has a portfolio of stores around the world who offer wide ranging collections including menswear, womenswear, accessories, fragrance, footwear, eyewear and watches.

Ted Baker will be leaving their old HQ in Kings Cross which was known as the Ugly Brown Building where they resided for twenty years to establish new roots at 101 on Cleveland, Fitzrovia which has been named the Gorgeous Brown Building and has a distinctive flat-iron shape.

The project is a joint venture project between Art-Invest Real Estate UK, German real estate developer, ECE and Dukelease Properties.

The whole development includes 88 luxury apartments, 15 affordable housing units, along with Ted Baker’s headquarters, workspaces, social space and showrooms spread over 35,000 sq ft on the ground floor and basement levels. The building has two large podium gardens and a 500 sq m sedum green roof, as well as incorporating a photovoltaic system on the roof.

System Five began working on this exciting project at the beginning of October and are due to finish at the year end. We are utilising Trend Control Systems based IQ4 controllers with IQvision head supervisor and integrating with packaged Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) units and Cold Water Supply and Domestic Hot Water Supply systems as well as installing control, network and monitoring cabling to equipment across two floors and roof located ventilation.

Our work on the project will integrate standalone ventilation systems into a coherent remote user-friendly accessible metering, monitoring, control and alarm reporting system.
