System Five are proud to have been selected by MCS to join the team that includes Collins Construction and Orbit Architects, working on The Pickle Factory in Bermondsey in South-East London which is due to complete in Spring 2023.
The project is set within a 4.7-acre mixed use site, and the range of new and existing warehouse buildings will include open squares, café, an art gallery as well as a vibrant new business community, which was previously home to the former Crosse & Blackwell factory where the famous Branston Pickle was produced.
The Pickle Factory takes the lowest 3 floors of the existing assembly of warehouse buildings. The buildings will be repurposed for office and residential renting with a ‘retrofit first’ approach; offering 77,000 sq feet of warehouse office space with workspaces and cafés, surrounding a central triple height glazed atrium with an ETFE roof.
System Five is pleased to be providing a comprehensive BEMS for this part of the development including the services infrastructure and as such will be providing a system to manage and monitor to central plant including chilled water plant, pumps, ventilation and public health equipment as well as fan coil units across the floor plates and energy monitoring.
