System Five are delighted to have been selected by highly respected Mechanical and Electrical contractor Lorne Stewart, to join the team which is led by Sir Robert McAlpine and Purcell, working on the major conservation and extensive refurbishment of The Orangery at Kensington Palace.
The Orangery dates back to 1704 when Queen Anne had an elaborate greenhouse built in the style of an elegant palace. The Orangery went on to form an important extension to the State Apartments, hosting entertainments, and even ceremonies of state. Today, it continues this role providing catering for visitors and hosting events which generate income for the Historic Royal Palaces charitable cause.
System Five’s work on this impressive project utilises Trend Control Systems and includes LTHW system, heating, ventilation, interface to air conditioning, domestic hot and cold water, kitchen ventilation as well as extensive metering and energy monitoring.
