System Five add their expertise to the Brentford Waterside Masterplan

System Five is proud to have been selected by J.D.Deerings to join the team, which includes principal contractor Willmott Dixon and BPTW (who have specialisms in architecture and planning) working on the Brentford Waterside Block D project.

The project is part of the London Borough of Hounslow’s Brentford Waterside Masterplan which will help to regenerate Brentford High Street by providing over 1,000sqm of flexible commercial floorspace at ground floor and 96 affordable homes.

The Block D development will form part of Hounslow’s commitment to build 1,000 new Council homes to meet an increasing demand for social housing within the borough and to support the council’s goal to become zero-carbon by 2030 and as such the homes will be 100% electric with an Air Source Heat Pump system that will provide residents with hot water and heating.

The design considerations include passive solar heating, water efficiency standards, the reuse and recycling of construction materials and urban greening. The project aims to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ for the retail space and has a low carbon goal for the development as a whole.

Engineers from System Five will install a new control panel within the ground floor plantroom which includes a Trend Control Systems IQ4E and a TONN controller which are used to monitor and control the plant equipment as well as cold water storage and booster, sprinkler booster sets, MVHR’s, refuse extract fans, car park ventilation, smoke extract fan, water and electricity meters. The system includes a user interface display and PC Head-end for control by the building facilities management team.
