System Five wins service contract at The Almere

System Five are proud to have been selected by Polyteck, a leading building services, maintenance and refurbishment company, to be the incumbent maintenance and service provider for The Almere. This project has transformed a vacant brownfield site in the centre of Milton Keynes into a mixed-use Build to Rent development.

The Almere was developed by Packaged Living and designed by Assael Architecture and is operated by Native Residential and features 294 apartments, together with lounges with games and break-out spaces, a gym, co-working spaces, a hireable private dining room, and two external rooftop terraces.

The development has taken advantage of the city’s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) energy station, located close to the site and the apartments are connected to the district heating plant, meaning the complex uses a renewable source of energy for hot water and heating.  This low carbon provision has removed the need for alternative renewable technologies such as solar panels, as well as boilers in the apartments.

Packaged Living were shortlisted for BTR Developer of the Year and BTR Scheme of the Year for The Almere in yesterday’s Property Week #BTR360 Awards.

Engineers from System Five’s Service team will visit The Almere through the year providing Planned Preventative Maintenance as well as servicing heating and ventilation systems which utilise a Trend Controls BEMS.
