World Water Day

Water plays a fundamental role in the function of buildings, be it for drinking, washing, swimming pools and of course the movement of energy for heating and cooling, so as such the work that System Five, 4energy group and analytics4energy undertake through BEMS, halo and livesight, is crucial to water’s efficient management and safe delivery.

Today is World Water Day, an annual United Nations observance day. United Nations Water is the convener for World Water Day and selects the theme for each year in consultation with UN organizations which are based around clean water, sanitation and hygiene.

World Water Day is marked around the world with a variety of events – theatrical, educational, campaigning, fundraising and lobbying. The intention is to inspire people around the world to learn more about water-related issues and to take action to make a difference.

Water, the essence of life, stands as a cornerstone in the sustainable development of societies worldwide. It serves as the linchpin for energy, health, and food sectors, while also playing a crucial role in biodiversity conservation.

The theme for 2024 is “Water for Peace”. Water has a ripple effect across many global challenges – from climate change to political unrest. Water can create peace or spark conflict. When water is scarce or polluted, or when people have unequal, or no access, tensions can rise between communities and countries.
