Clean Air Day

Today is Clean Air Day, the UK’s largest air pollution campaign, led by Global Action Plan.

This year’s theme highlights that air pollution affects us from our first breath to our last, impacting organ development in childhood, contributing to conditions like heart disease and stroke in adulthood, and everything in between.

At 4energy group, System Five and analytics4energy, we believe that smarter buildings can play a significant role in both improving indoor air quality and reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

With the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) reporting that the non-domestic built environment contributes 23% of the UK’s carbon emissions, much of which comes from fossil fuel use, cutting emissions through smarter building controls can also help improve air quality.

Our BEMS solutions not only help to reduce harmful emissions but also enable clients to monitor and improve Indoor Air Quality supporting healthier environments through CO₂, VOC, and particulate sensing, as well as optimised HVAC performance.

Air pollution may be invisible, but the harm it causes is not. Together, we can drive the changes that make our buildings and our air cleaner, both now and for future generations.
